- Always keep the pigeon loft clean, dry and well ventilated.
- Make it sturdy to keep out dogs, cats, and other pest & predators.
- Wire bottoms or flooring are better so lessen the chances of contamination in case of viral breakout.
- Avoid draft directly hitting your pigeons to keep them for getting sick.
- Have water available to the pigeons at all times but make sure they don’t take a bath in it.
- Never leave feed on the floor where pigeon droppings can contaminate it.
- Give your pigeons access to the sunlight.
It’s ideal to have a walk-in pigeon loft where you can segregated areas to your desired program. If you have the means and resources you can build a loft 12′ x 8′ and it will surely shelter numerous birds and yourself as well during bad weather.
